The Department of Medical Oncology of Zhejiang Hospital is an oncology specialty department in Zhejiang Province with a leading comprehensive strength and integrating with medical, teaching and scientific research. Treatment Features

Regularly conducting the adjuvant, palliative, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, molecular targeted therapy, cancer pain therapy, in vitro high-frequency hyperthermia and biological therapy for various malignant solid tumors.

 Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy as well as preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy: For most patients with malignant tumors, chemotherapy (adjuvant chemotherapy) is required after surgery to reduce tumor recurrence and metastasis, and prolong the survival of patients. For some patients who are difficult to undergo surgery, preoperative chemotherapy (neoadjuvant chemotherapy) can reduce the tumor stage and increase the chance of surgical resection. Our department has carried out adjuvant chemotherapy and neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment for lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, gallbladder cholangiocarcinoma and other common tumors. 

Alleviative treatment: For patients with advanced metastatic malignancies who are inoperable or generally poorly unable to tolerate surgery, chemotherapy could extend the survival period and improve the quality of life. Our department has extensive experience in palliative chemotherapy and best supportive care in patients with advanced metastatic malignancy.

Physiotherapy: Hyperthermia (high-intensity focused ultrasound and radiofrequency hyperthermia), and tumor hypertherapy is a general refers to a kind of treatment methods using heating to treat tumors. Thermal energy changes the pharmacokinetics to increase the local blood flow to the tumor; Cell membrane permeability increased, the intracellular uptake of chemotherapy drugs increased, and high temperature enhanced the cytotoxic effect of chemotherapy drugs. With the curative purpose of making the tumor cells apoptotic without damaging the normal tissues. Our department has the world's advanced tumor hyperthermia system NRL-004, which carries out systemic and local hyperthermia to treat tumors, enhance the sensitivity of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and minimize the toxicity of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
