The Department of Otolaryngology of Zhejiang Hospital was founded in 1958, and has been developing and growing under the personal care and cultivation of Professor Cai Yuehou and Professor Shi Yisheng, the famous experts of otolaryngology in China. Currently, there are 5 senior professional title experts at the Department, equipped with 12 approved beds. Equipped with German electronic dynamic laryngoscope, otolaryngology electronic endoscopic system, surgical microscope, nasal endoscopy and power system, the image workstation, Pillar stent implant, radiofrequency ablation plasma surgical system, Denmark’s meter, acoustic impedance instrument and Japan, South Korea otolaryngology comprehensive treatment and a large number of advanced equipment. There are 12 open beds.

Fiber laryngoscopy and other advanced techniques such as vocal cord polyp removal, dynamic laryngoscopy analysis and radiofrequency ablation of suspension grace and palatopharyngeal molding minimally invasive surgery, etc were first carried out by the Department in the province, In 2001, it established the first sleep and respiratory disorder diagnosis and treatment center in cooperation with other departments, and has rich experience in the surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and hypoventilation syndrome, throat diseases, functional nasal endoscopic surgery, and sudden deafness, and senile deafness. Over the years, nearly 30 papers are published, 3 of which have won the provincial Natural Science Excellent Paper Award, edited and participated in 3 monographs.
