Scope of responsibility: responsible for scientific research, teaching and international exchange and cooperation, in charge of the Department of Science and Education, Medical Simulation Center, International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
Brief history:
Huang Jun is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and NSFC Distinguished Young Scholars. He is currently the Vice President of Zhejiang Hospital, and was appointed as the Assistant Director of the Institute of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University in January 2018 and the Vice President of the Institute of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University in April 2019.
He received his undergraduate degree from Nankai University in 2001 and his PhD degree from Peking University in 2006. From 2006 to 2010, he conducted postdoctoral research at Mayo Clinic, Yale University, and MD Anderson Cancer Research Center. In January 2010, he joined the Institute of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University as a professor and doctoral supervisor, focusing on the molecular mechanism of aging and tumor development. He has made a series of original research results in this field, and has been published as corresponding author (including co-corresponding) in Science, Molecular Cell, Nature Communications, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, Current Biology, Journal of Cell Biology He has published many research papers in Science, Molecular Cell, Nature Communications, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, Current Biology, Journal of Cell Biology, Nucleic Acids Research, EMBO Reports, Cell Reports, Cell Discovery and Journal of Biological Chemistry, etc., and has received wide attention from international peers.
He has been selected (awarded) as a young top talent in the National Ten Thousand People Plan (2011), a special expert of overseas high-level talents in Zhejiang Province (2012), Zhejiang Province Distinguished Youth Fund (2012), a new century outstanding talent of the Ministry of Education (2012), National Distinguished Youth Science Fund (2013), a young and middle-aged science and technology innovation leader of the Ministry of Science and Technology (2013), a special allowance expert of the State Council (2015), and Huo Yingdong Young Teacher Fund (2017), and National Ten Thousand People Plan for Science and Technology Innovation Leaders (2018). In 2017, he won the First Prize of Natural Science of Zhejiang Province as the first completer.
