Raising Legal Awareness, We Are Taking Action - Our Hospital Conducts Training on Medical Safety Strategies under the New Law of the Civil Code

In order to improve the legal awareness of medical and nursing staff at all levels and enhance the ability to practice according to the law, on July 10, 2020, the medical department of our hospital invited the legal advisor of the hospital and lawyer Zhao Lihua from Zhejiang Tianwei Law Firm to conduct a special training on "patient-centered" medical safety strategy under the new law of the Civil Code. At 15:50 on the afternoon of the same day, the training officially started in the international conference hall on the 6th floor of the outpatient clinic of Sanduan Hospital, Lingyin Hospital, as well as the hospitals in Xinjiang, Guizhou, Pinghu, Kaihua, Jinhua and other regions of the hospital are synchronized with the live broadcast, the leadership team members of each hospital and hospital, all medical and nursing staff participated in the training.

First of all, President Hong Chaoyang delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of legal practice and asking all medical and nursing staffs to pay attention to the training of laws and regulations and better use legal tools to support the smooth development of our daily medical work. Afterwards, Mr. Zhao gave a detailed explanation of the tort chapter of the Civil Code with a real medical case. He focused on the changes of the patient's right to informed consent, such as the way of informing the consent, the content of informing, and the object of informing. He emphasized the importance of "written consent" to "explicit consent" and the importance of timely inspection and recording of medical documents in medical activities.

Secondly, through the interpretation of the highlights of the Basic Medical Health and Health Promotion Law, Mr. Zhao made everyone fully aware that this law is the first basic and comprehensive law in the field of health care in China, which regulates medical and health services, medical and health institutions, medical and health personnel, drug supply guarantee, health promotion, financial guarantee, supervision and management, and legal responsibility in the form of national laws. It is a milestone in regulating social relations and behavior in the field of health. It is an important legal basis to guide our future work.

After the lecture, our medical and nursing staff discussed enthusiastically, and all of them said that they had seriously studied the relevant legal knowledge today, and also understood the importance of knowing and understanding the law.
