 Hits: 3158 Time: 2021-03-23

Four days ago, the first Zhejiang medical team aiding Hubei was back to Hangzhou—the second batch of Zhejiang medical team (based in Tianyou Hospital Affiliated to Wuhan University of Science and Technology), successfully completed its mission and returned to Hangzhou safely. They left in cold winter and returned in warm Spring. Today, there is another batch of the great medical team—the First Emergency Medical Team in Zhejiang Province to fight against COVID-19 coming home in triumph. Huang Jianfa, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Minister of Organization Department, Cheng Yuechong, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, and Hong Chaoyang, Dean of Zhejiang Hospital, and other leaders go to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to greet the heroes and extend a warm welcome to the members of the medical team, and pay high respects to them and their families.

On January 25, Lunar New Year's Day, the first batch of 141 "warriors" from Zhejiang Emergency Medical Team for Fighting against Epidemic set off for Wuhan to support the front line, including Wang Yanhong, head nurse of the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Zhejiang Hospital, Hu Weihang, deputy chief physician of ICU (I), Ren Qi, ICU nurse, and Wang Ji(presiding over the work), deputy director of the Department of Medical Engineering. They were sent to Wuhan No.4 Hospital to take over the consultation and logistic support for intensively ill patients. As of March 18, the first batch of aid medical team from Zhejiang Province had treated 293 patients, of which 156 were severely ill, 64 were intensively ill, and 231 were cured and discharged.

On January 28, Shen Xin, the head nurse of ICU (I) of Zhejiang Hospital and the head of the intensive care nursing team, led a team consisting of 30 nurses from the provincial Intensive Care Department to rush to Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, as a supplement to the first batch of medical team.

Staying on the front line for 58 days, they had experienced a lot of difficulties, they showed too much courage, and they had too many smiles and tears...

On March 19, the first batch of emergency medical team fighting against COVID-19 epidemic from Zhejiang province completed its mission in Wuhan No.4 Hospital (Gutian Branch) and rested and stood by.

On March 20, they came to the Wuhan No. 4 Middle School opposite the resident hotel to take a group photo. At the school gate, the principal greeted the members of the medical team with a large number of staff and bowed deeply. "On behalf of Wuhan people, I welcome our heroes!" The principal introduced the Wuhan No.4 Middle School, which was founded in 1899 by the British named as Hankou Boxue Academy. It is an ordinary high school that has lasted for a century and has nurtured famous alumni like Yuan Longping.

The whole team stood into the words "Zhe-Han". At this moment, they let go of pressure and burden, and enjoyed the sunshine and happy time thoroughly.

Shen Xin

Awarded the title of “Excellent Communist Party Member of Zhejiang Province”

At about 5 p.m. the day before yesterday, Shen Xin was informed that the Zhejiang intensive care team could leave Wuhan. At that time, her thoughts stopped for a while, and the voice on the other end of the phone asked: "Shen Xin, are you crying or laughing?" She paused for a moment, “Yes, how do I feel?” There was reluctance, regret, happiness and prayer.

She was reluctant to leave those brothers and sisters who fought together in the intensive care unit of Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital for 54 days, and was
deeply moved by their professionalism and dedication.

She regretted that she did not take the last intensively ill patient out of the ICU.

She was happy, because after 56 days away from home, they were finally going back to Hangzhou.

And, she prayed for the heroic Wuhan and the heroic Wuhan people to resume normal life as soon as possible.

As a member of the Communist Party, Shen Xin was on the front line of the epidemic battle in accordance with the decision and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the provincial party committee. She rushed forward, fought bravely and gave full play to the role of a pioneer, so that the Party flag flew high on the front line of the battel against epidemic the battle against Covid-19, and made great contributions to the major achievements of the epidemic prevention and control.

In recognition of the advanced individuals, on March 18, the Zhejiang Provincial Committee decided to award 40 comrades, including Shen Xin, who performed outstandingly on the front line of the epidemic prevention and control, the title of “Excellent Communist Party Member of Zhejiang Province”.

Wang Yanhong

She insisted on being on the front line of the battel against epidemic, from winter to spring, and her cotton jacket was replaced with a T-Shirt.

After the patients were discharged from the hospital one by one, and the wards were empty. Wang Yanhong could feel that the day to return to Hangzhou is getting closer and closer. She should have felt relaxed and stress-free, and should have slept well all night long. However, as the day drew near, she could not sleep well at all. Her heart was full of sadness of departure.

On her way home from work, she met the community volunteers, who said to her: "You are the member of Zhejiang medical team! We have seen you working here from Winter to Spring, your cotton jacket was taken off for a T-Shirt. You have worked hard for us in Wuhan and have been away from your home for more than 50 days, and we Wuhan people thank you! We hope that you can take a photo with us so that we can always remember our heroes!

Perhaps it was their enthusiasm and gratitude that touched Wang Yanhong. She was not so eager to go home.

On the night before departure, the neighboring community spontaneously sang the "National Anthem". The heartfelt singing and the cry of "Come on Wuhan" touched Wang Yanhong's heart and made her tears come to her eyes.

The Wuhan city has limited inflow and outflow of people, but the Wuhan People’s hearts have not: many lovely people like the medical workers, countless volunteers, taxi drivers, courier guys, hotel service staff, sanitation workers, etc. They are still fighting on the front line from the beginning to the present, doing their parts for this great city. “If we are angels, then they are heroes walking toward us. We come to you with a hint of warmth in winter, but you return us cherry blossoms throughout the spring."

Wang Ji

“As long as the country needs me, I will go to the front line to fight against the epidemic without fear. This is my duty, my mission, and my pride.”

Wang Ji (presiding over the work) is the deputy director of the Medical Engineering Department of Zhejiang Hospital, and also the secretary of the Sixth Branch of Administrative Department. He was mainly responsible for the logistics support of the medical team in Wuhan, including the procurement and distribution of daily necessities for the team members and the supply of medical protective equipment. When it came to the work and life on the front line, Wang Ji said that everyone should live a warm life.

He was doing his best to take care of the daily lives of the front-line medical staff and to ensure the logistical supplies.

Both his wife and child were in favor of his decision. His daughter even said to him, "Dad is great, you are my idol. You are like those heroes on TV!" Wang Ji believes that this kind of spirit will inspire her throughout her life.

Now Wang Ji were going back to his hometown. Since he came to Wuhan, he had been moved by all these strong people. Although virus isolated people, but faith did not. He experienced the sadness when people lost their loved ones, the joy when someone overcame the illness. He saw the tired cheeks when the medical workers took off theirs masks, and felt the happiness of all people working together to overcome difficulties.

The night before leaving Wuhan, Wang Ji couldn't help thinking of his family, those daily trivialities were what he wanted the most at that moment: his wife was busy in the kitchen, his children were playing in the living room, and his parents were always cheering him on!  He is grateful for their understanding and support.

Hu Weihang

Take your time to appreciate the beauty of this city in the lingering heat of hot-and-dry noodles

“We bid farewell to this city that has just gone through trials and tribulations in the splendor of cherry blossoms. We come in Winter, and return in Spring. We will remember this experience for the rest of our lives."

He wanted to write down his daily work and mood, record the extraordinary experience when he stood side by side with his comrades all days and nights.

However, the intense work and severe situation kept him busy in the intensive care unit. So he was always tired. Every day after work back to the residence he only wanted to relax. Fortunately, there had always been endless hope that inspiring him…

Hu Weihang said: "We are not heroes, but people need us.". After 60 days’ efforts, most intensively ill patients were safe, and more than 100 patients had been discharged from the hospital. There were surprises every day. We had pains, and we had gains.

He hopes that all the patients suffering here will get well soon and return to their sweet home. Next time, when spring comes, he will visit this city again. He will go to see the gorgeous cherry blossoms in Wuhan University, enjoy the beautiful night view of the Yellow Crane Tower, visit the majestic Yangtze River Bridge, and taste the delicious hot- and-dry noodles.

Ren Qi

Those tough days have passed, but he will remember these eternal two months!

When he came to Wuhan, Ren Qi never thought when he could leave. A few days before departure, the long-awaited victory dawned. After all, these days’ efforts were not in vain. However, Ren Qi was suddenly having a hard time leaving Wuhan No.4 Hospital. “This may be the nature of people facing things that have passed or will pass.”

On March 20, the case of novel coronavirus infection in Wuhan No.4 hospital was reduced to zero, which meant that his work at the hospital may come to a successful conclusion ahead of schedule. He said there was still some regrets that he did not say goodbye to the hospital as formally as leaving a job.

Ren Qi experienced and learned a lot in the hospital. He had studied and worked in Wuhan before, and this fight against the epidemic was both an obligation to society and another form of reward for Wuhan city.

Those tough days have passed, but he will remember these eternal two months!

They say they are not heroes, but just happen to be needed, but it is because of them that we see hope. There are no insurmountable difficulties. Although the darkness of winter is long, but it can never stop the light of dawn.

With a blessing and gratitude, let’s welcome the heroes back home safely.
