The first "Zhejiang Hospital Blood Donation Day" in 2020 is coming soon in an extraordinary period of fighting the epidemic, and the number of blood donors in the streets has dropped sharply. In order to relieve the pressure of clinical blood use, Zhejiang Hospital started the Blood Donation Day in advance, and issued the Protecting Life and Fighting for Love - Proposal of Zhejiang Hospital's Blood Donation Campaign to Help Fight COVID-19 Epidemic. On February 11th and February 18th, voluntary blood donation activities will be carried out in Lingyin and Sandun hospital zone.

In this blood donation activity, more than 100 employees of Zhejiang Hospital have signed up, but the site is in good order. In order to strengthen the epidemic prevention work and reduce the gathering, this blood donation is organized in different periods and batches. Employees register in the "DingTalk" system in advance, make an appointment, and come to donate blood in an orderly manner. In addition to the blood donation vehicle, two rooms have been prepared for this activity, one for pre-examination and the other for rest room, which are independent of each other and minimize the people density.

To this end, the hospital made a decision to organize employees to donate blood as soon as possible after many contacts and discussions with the provincial Blood Center."

The epidemic is a military order! Zhejiang Hospital is the first provincial hospital to organize voluntary blood donation after the outbreak of COVID-19 and the first-level response in Zhejiang Province. This is not the first time for Zhejiang Hospital to lead the activity. As early as August 2017, Zhejiang Hospital set up "Zhejiang Hospital Blood Donation Day" for the first time in provincial hospitals, and set February 18th and August 18th as "Zhejiang Hospital Blood Donation Day". In recent three years, it has provided about 175,400 ml of blood for clinical use.

Guo Xia, a doctor from the Dermatology Department of Zhejiang Hospital, signed up as soon as she heard the news. She donated 200 ml this time. "Today, it is my first time to donate blood after I began to work, but it is not my first time to donate blood. I also donated several times in college, with a total of 1000 ml. I am a dermatologist, and my major may not be able to contribute to the front line, so I want to try my best to do something. Everyone contributes a little strength and the world will be better." Although he is not a party member, Guo Xia wants to be a screw in the machine of prevention and control of the epidemic in this extraordinary period of the whole country.

In the blood donation activity on February 11th, a total of 70 employees in Zhejiang Hospital completed blood donation, with a blood donation volume of 16,300 ml. On February 18th, nearly 100 employees are expected to participate in blood donation. In the two blood donation activities, a total of 65 party members attended to fight against the epidemic in this different way and fulfilled their initial mission.
