The epidemic is the order, the prevention and control of the epidemic are the task, and the position is the taste of the year. The Spring Festival of 2020 was destined to be spent in extraordinary. In the face of the outbreak of the new coronavirus pneumonia, starting from New Year’s Eve, the two doctors and three nurses in the building’s medical office voluntarily gave up their vacations, actively signed up, and carried out daily emergency personnel staying on duty during the Spring Festival. At the same time, it actively promoted disinfection and sterilization knowledge in public areas for epidemic prevention and control for departments in need.

With the progress of the epidemic, serious human-to-human transmission had emerged in various regions of Hubei. The Zhejiang Provincial Government initiated a first-level response to major public health emergencies. In order to ensure the safety of the epidemic prevention and control of the provincial administrative center, under the instructions of the special class of epidemic prevention and control of the provincial administrative center, and under the leadership of Secretary Yan of our hospital, five medical staff in the medical office of the building implemented a 24-hour duty system from early February. Because of the serious shortage of medical staff, Director Chen Jin of the Cadre Health Care Department sent medical staff to support. According to the actual work situation of the infirmary, they have formulated corresponding emergency plans, determined the work process and reporting system under abnormal conditions, and formulated the work responsibilities of each shift during the epidemic prevention and control period based on the scheduling situation.

In the epidemic prevention and control tasks, the shining demeanor of the medical staff in the infirmary was everywhere. In the face of the epidemic, medical staff actively paid attention and actively learned various new coronary pneumonia-related diagnosis and treatment plans and hospital infection prevention and control knowledge issued by the hospital. During pre-inspection and triage and re-testing of body temperature at each entrance of the provincial administrative center, nurses conducted epidemiological history investigation and triage diagnosis and treatment based on the latest knowledge they have learned, and actively promoted epidemic prevention knowledge to government officials.

The wind knows the strong grass, and the fire makes real gold. At this important juncture and critical moment, all medical staff united and helped each other to overcome the current situation of fewer staffs, cumbersome tasks, and difficult scheduling, and took the initiative to work overtime and work hard. The medical staff suffered from facial skin allergies and itching because of wearing masks for a long time, but they still insisted on working on the job. In order to save gowns and gloves, medical staff insisted on not drinking water during working hours. Ye Meng, the registration room, took the initiative to take on the problem of ordering and fetching meals for all medical staff. The staff of Chinese and Western pharmacies actively dispensed medicines according to the needs of government officials. During this extraordinary period, all the staff in the medical office of the building made concerted efforts, which fully embodied the spirit of responsibility and selfless dedication of Zhejiang Medical staff, and deeply embodied the original intention and mission of medical workers.

The epidemic prevention and control task of the medical office has been highly valued by the leaders of the hospital. Secretary Yan has come many times to help us confirm the investigation plan of epidemiological history, pay attention to our work process, and care about the health of medical staff. Director Chen Jin of the Cadre Health Department helped us revise the emergency plan and actively communicated with various departments of the hospital to solve our worries. Li Jun, director of the hospital's Inpatient Department, instructed medical staff on-site to conduct training on protective clothing putting on and taking off techniques and in-house infection prevention and control knowledge. The Chinese pharmacy also delivered Zhengqi Decoction every week to help medical staff improve their immunity.

The hospital's care and support for the infirmary made us deeply feel the warmth of the big family, and further stimulated the motivation of the medical staff. All medical staff would continue to work hard to stick to their posts, achieve proper publicity, prevention and control, investigation, and do their best to fulfill their mission.
