Party committees, governments, and leading cadres at all levels must shoulder their responsibilities and stand the test. We should not only have the courage to bear the responsibility, but also the wisdom of scientific prevention and control, and not only have the plan for overall planning and all-round consideration, but also have the ability to organize and implement them. We must earnestly implement our work, fulfill our original mission in the war, hand in qualified answers in the big exams, ensure that we win the people's war, the overall war, and the resistance war for epidemic prevention and control, and strive to achieve the annual economic and social development goals and tasks.

——General Secretary Xi Jinpin

This was an extraordinary spring. A war against the new coronavirus had entered a tough period. The group of "warriors" in white clothes who were not afraid of hardships and dangers were facing the front line of prevention and control for the health of the people.

The epidemic is the order, the hospital is the battlefield, and the job is the position. The fight against the pneumonia epidemic caused by the new type of coronavirus infection had started. The Zhejiang Hospital Party Committee attached great importance to it. It immediately activated the emergency plan and established an epidemic prevention and control leading group and expert group. The employees were united in the fight against the epidemic.

Looking for clues to the virus

Build a great wall between patients and viruses

Imaging examinations, especially X-ray films and CT examinations, played a vital role in the diagnosis of pneumonia caused by the new type of coronavirus. All the staff in the Department of Radiology of Zhejiang Hospital, were not in the fever clinic or in the isolation ward, but they were on the front line of the fight against the new coronavirus in another way. They were on standby 24 hours a day, night and day, racing against time, leaving their families to care for everyone, actively cooperating with the clinical department, doing a good job in the inspection of fever clinics and infections patients, and devoting themselves to this battlefield without gunpowder smoke. They had built a protective line to protect the health of the people, demonstrating their lofty mission and professionalism.

Chief physician Zhang Jianjun, director of the Department of Radiology of Zhejiang Hospital, has never stopped since the outbreak of the epidemic. On the one hand, he actively deployed troops to do their best to meet the needs of epidemic screening and prevention of cross-infection; on the other hand, as the branch secretary of the third branch of Zhejiang Hospital Medical Technology, Zhang Jianjun gave full play to the leading role of party members and cadres. There are Communist Party members in hardships and dangers. He led three branches of medical technology and vowed to fight the virus to the end. When an acute infectious disease outbreak occurred, party members and cadres actively responded to the party and government's decision-making and deployment, responded to the hospital's call, and regarded the epidemic prevention and control work as the most important task at present. A branch is a solid battle fortress, and the three medical and technical branches have used their actual actions to interpret the meaning of a battle fortress.

In this epidemic, the radiologists worked hard. They fought side by side with medical staff in fever clinics and isolation wards, and made every effort to complete the imaging diagnosis and screening of patients with new coronary pneumonia. They were in close contact with patients, accurately positioned, projected, and scanned. When encountering frail or bedridden patients, they stepped forward and assisted. However, they never complained or flinched.

In order to perform image inspections safely and efficiently, Zhang Jianjun and the three deputy directors of the radiology department Feng Yue, chief physician, Wu Weifeng, deputy chief technician, Mu Caiyun, deputy chief technician, and deputy head nurse Guo Dongmei, repeatedly emphasized the specific procedures of each work. In addition, they conducted a serious investigation on the spot. The layout of the site included fever clinics, the networking of isolation wards, and the placement of equipment, etc., and organized related drills and formulated emergency plans.

As the supply and guarantee department of medical equipment and consumables, the Medical Engineering Department actively cooperated with the Radiology Department and provided strong support in equipment maintenance. They responded 24 hours a day, ensuring the orderly progress of the front-line work of the radiology department. Deputy Director of the Medical Engineering Department (in charge of the work) Wang Ji, and Deputy Director Huang Lei led the Department of Medical Engineering to urgently reserve protective equipment, and cooperated with various departments to do a good job in temporary wards, fever clinics, emergency departments, outpatient departments and security departments of the two hospitals. And they were responsible for the emergency stocking and distribution of protective equipment. According to the deployment of the hospital, it was necessary to deploy a mobile DR from the Radiology Department of Lingying Hospital to Sandun Hospital. Wang Ji immediately contacted the relevant departments and arranged for the engineers of the two hospitals to relay each other, and quickly transferred the mobile DR to the Sandun hospital. At the same time, they contacted the manufacturer to replace the battery so that it could be used for film examinations of patients in the fever clinic in Sandun Hospital. At that special moment, the radiology department was guaranteed to carry out the work of fighting the epidemic smoothly and safely.

On January 25 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), Wang Ji rushed to Wuhan urgently. The Medical Engineering Department carried forward the spirit of continuous combat, and various departments mobilized and ordered protective materials. On the one hand, consumable warehouse personnel and engineers did a good job of receiving and warehousing new protective equipment, and on the other hand, they were orderly doing well in the delivery and distribution of these items to provide strong support and guarantee for the front line of anti-epidemic.

Those anti-epidemic heroes in Radiology Department

Hu Cuihua

Radiological Technologist (Communist Party Member)

The epidemic has affected him a lot. He asked many times if we needed him. He said he would go if necessary! During the Spring Festival, he was fully prepared, waiting for an order, and immediately rushed to the front line of fighting the epidemic. His parents were worried about him a lot, but he knew his duty as a radiologist. When there was a colleague in the department who had returned from Wenzhou and needed to be quarantined, he immediately came over to replace the duty without saying a word, and went to work continuously during the Spring Festival. For him, sticking to the post was his duty and responsibility. Only in this way can he be worthy of the title of a Communist.

Wei Qiang

Radiology Technologist

During the Spring Festival, he went to work almost every day, did not go home for the New Year, and did not have the joy of reunion, but he did not have any complaints, "Tell myself not to cry and use my eyes to watch the film." During the anti-epidemic period, he eliminated all difficulties under the remote guidance of the manufacturer’s engineers, solved equipment problems and provided a strong guarantee for timely and smooth inspections of fever patients.

Shao Dan

Radiology Technologist

His home is far away from the hospital and people in the village knew that he was working in the hospital. They didn't understand and rejected him, and even refused to let him go home. The virus were everywhere, and he knew that he was needed on the front line. During the Spring Festival, as long as there is a need, he would be on the job, although the road to work and home was full of bumps. He said, "The position needs me. In order to overcome the epidemic as soon as possible, I must be there. I have to ensure that I go to work normally, and I will be admitted to the hospital in the big deal."

Yang Jie

Radiology nurse

When the epidemic in Wuhan was severe, Zhejiang Hospital sent soldiers in white to help Wuhan. After the ICU sent the frontline staff to help Wuhan, the number of staff in the department decreased. She took the initiative to replace the night shift without saying anything. She said that comrades-in-arms were fighting on the front line in Wuhan and I couldn't go to the front line. In the rear, I must do my part.

Huang Xiaoxian

Radiology nurse

During the Spring Festival, in order to fight against the epidemic, the radiology department made a very complete staff arrangement. During the epidemic,if a nurse has a cough or feels unwell, there must be a shortage of people on the job! She immediately proposed taking the place of work. She said, “at this time, the most important thing is to work together among colleagues to fight the new coronavirus. As long as we are united, we will surely be able to win this battle!” She also made self-made protective masks and distributed them to front-line colleagues, always carefully asking them to protect themselves.

There is also Guo Dongmei, who was always busy with masks, hats, protective clothing, isolation gowns, gloves, etc., to prepare protective materials for over 80 staff in the department, check them and report them from time to time. "Have you taken your temperature?" Every day's greetings were ringing in my ears.

This was a group of "radiators" full of power. Facing the profession, they are striving for perfection; facing the virus, they are strictly controlling the death; facing the colleagues, they are loving and helping each other. It was with this spirit that they could make themselves face of the fierce virus, carrying the line of defense on medical imaging on his shoulders, and providing strong support for the clinic.

In this war against the "epidemic", Zhang Jianjun said that the words he heard the most were, "Who will go if we don’t go?" "Let me go!" "I can!"... Indeed, if we do not face the danger directly, then it will be our families, the families of millions of our compatriots, who were facing the danger.

In the face of the epidemic, unity was the only strength, and unity gave us a concerted effort to fight the epidemic.
