Mr. Wang (pseudonym), 40, is an old hypertensive patient, counting his history of hypertension, which has been more than 20 years. Since the detection of hypertension, Mr. Wang has been using drugs to control his blood pressure, but the effect is not very good. He came to our hypertension center to see if there was anything he could do.
Dr. Liu Xinwen, deputy chief of our cardiac rehabilitation department, conducted a systematic examination and found that Mr. Wang had primary aldosteronism. Afterwards, Mr. Wang received the appropriate symptomatic treatment and his blood pressure was brought under control.
There are 270 million hypertensive patients like Mr. Wang nationwide, and hypertension has become a common problem. October 8 is the 22nd "National Hypertension Day", and this year's theme is "Know your blood pressure over 18 years old".
In order to implement the
"Health China Action", the National Health Commission CDC "on
the 2019 "National Hypertension Day" publicity activities, to further
raise awareness and attention to hypertension, effective prevention and control
of hypertension, and promote the quality of health and quality of life of the
people of our province,to promote the
prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in our
province. On the morning of October 8, the Research Center for Prevention and
Control of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases of Zhejiang Province, in
conjunction with our hospital, held the 22nd "National Hypertension
Day" promotional activity launching ceremony and large-scale charity consultation
activities in the Sandun Branch of our hospital. Jin Xiaoqing, vice president of the hospital,
attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Among Zhejiang people over 18 years old
About 1 in 4 people have hypertension
Jin Xiaoqing said that the results of the national "12th Five-Year Plan" survey on important cardiovascular diseases in China showed that the national awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate of hypertension in adults over 18 years old were 46.5%, 41.1% and 13.8% respectively; the awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate of hypertension in adults over 18 years old in our province were 69.3%, 58.8% and 31.9% respectively in the same period of the survey conducted by the Zhejiang Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment Research Center, which reflects the effect of clinical treatment, increased three times in 10 years and exceeded the national average by more than two times in the same period. It can be said that the province's hypertension prevention and control work after more than a decade of efforts, has achieved remarkable results and extensive social benefits.
Despite the great progress in prevention and control, the prevalence of hypertension in Zhejiang Province is still increasing year by year. With the change of modern life style, the incidence of hypertension is on the rise. According to relevant statistics, the prevalence of hypertension in Zhejiang Province is 24.6% over the age of 18, and there is about 1 hypertensive patient in every 4 people. In order to strengthen the prevention and control of hypertension in our province, the "National Cardiovascular Center Hypertension Medical Consortium Zhejiang Province Center" was established in our hospital in July 2018, consisting of 225 institutions, and the Council of the Medical Consortium is chaired by Professor Yan Jing, Director of Zhejiang Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Research Center, Secretary of the Party Committee of our hospital and a famous cardiovascular expert. The formation of a hypertension prevention and control network in Zhejiang Province united with provincial and urban medical institutions working together to further promote the level of hypertension prevention and treatment research in Zhejiang Province, so that the management of hypertension in Zhejiang Province to a higher level for the benefit of the majority of hypertensive patients.
Jin Xiaoqing reminded that the complications of hypertension seriously endanger human health and can lead to coronary heart disease, stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, renal insufficiency, fundus lesions and peripheral arteriosclerosis. Medical institutions have done a lot of work to strengthen the prevention and control of hypertension, and I hope that residents and friends themselves should also raise awareness of hypertension prevention and control. Usually strengthen blood pressure measurement, you can go to hospitals, clinics to measure blood pressure, can home self-measurement blood pressure, but also pharmacies and other public places to measure, etc. Daily to develop good habits, quit smoking and limit alcohol, low-salt diet, reasonable diet, moderate exercise, weight control, maintain psychological balance and good sleep, control blood sugar, blood lipids and blood uric acid.
Psychosomatic factors, bad living habits ......
After the age of 18 years old, at least one standardized blood pressure measurement per year
Subsequently, Dr. Yu Wei, deputy director of the Research Center for Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases of Zhejiang Province and director of our hypertension center, Dr. Xu Jiehui, director of our ophthalmology department, Dr. Jiang Ying, deputy medical director of the China-US Diabetes Center, Dr. Wang Yan, deputy director of the cardiac rehabilitation department, Dr. Tang Tingyu, deputy director (presiding) of the respiratory medicine department, Dr. Liu Xiaoli, deputy director of the neurology department, Dr. Mao Ping of the cardiovascular medicine department Dr. Liu Xiaoli, Deputy Director of the Department of Neurology, Dr. Mao Ping of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Dr. Chen Lili of the Department of Nephrology, and other experts brought a high-level, high-quality clinic to the audience. More than 100 patients from all areas of Hangzhou, especially from the surrounding communities, came to the clinic to have their blood glucose and blood pressure measured, learn how to standardize their blood pressure and have a consultation with the experts.
Yu Wei said that hypertension is showing a trend of becoming younger and younger. "The onset of hypertension is trending younger, the youngest hypertensive patient in the clinic is only 15 years old, and there are not a few hypertensive patients in their 20s."
There are many reasons for the increased incidence in younger age groups, including obesity, alcohol consumption, irregular lifestyle, high salt diet, mental stress, etc. Yu Wei especially advocates that people self-monitor their blood pressure and that adults over the age of 18 should have their blood pressure measured regularly at least once a year. Every family should have their own blood pressure monitor, just like a thermometer, for early detection and treatment. Buy an internationally certified upper-arm electronic blood pressure monitor that the whole family can use. In addition, every opportunity to measure blood pressure should be seized, such as actively participating in medical checkups, public places with automatic blood pressure measuring devices, and visiting hospitals for any disease or department, and taking the initiative to measure blood pressure.
