Create a comfortable, safe and efficient quality hospital - Our hospital held the final of 5S management project

In order to welcome the 65th anniversary of Zhejiang Hospital, improve the overall image of the hospital and the self-discipline of the staff, cultivate hospital culture, and enhance the sense of honor and self-confidence of the staff, our hospital held the final of the 5S management project results exchange competition at 2:00 pm on October 15, 2019 in the International Conference Center of Sandun Branch (Simultaneous live broadcast in the ladder classroom of Lingyin Branch), Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Hospital Yan Jing, President Hong Chaoyang, Vice President Cao Yongbao, Vice President Zhang Hong, Vice President Huang Qingdong, Vice President Jin Xiaoqing, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee He Xiaobo, Vice President Song Bosun and middle-level cadres of each department and reporting representatives attended the competition.


The hospital started to set up a 5S management leadership group from July to promote 5S management throughout the hospital. After three months of theoretical training, inter-departmental coordination and in-hospital promotion, all departments have actively participated and formed a number of excellent management projects. In the preliminary stage of the exchange competition, the 5S leadership team made a selection on site, and the top ten departments ranked according to their scores finally entered the "Zhejiang Hospital 5S Management Project Results Exchange Competition Final".


 


President Hong Chaoyang emphasized in his opening speech that 5S management should implement the key points of comfort, safety and efficiency, and develop good habits in daily work. After the current promotion of 5S, there has been a big improvement in the appearance of all parts of the hospital. Each department should ensure continuous improvement and make 5S management an important part of Zhejiang hospital culture.


 


The representative players of each department reported on the experience and achievements of the department in promoting 5S. Among them, the Department of Laboratory Science has improved the cohesiveness of the department in the process of promoting 5S management; the Department of Gastroenterology (Sandun 12 Ward) has combined the departmental 5S management with the PDCA model to implement the concept of 5S management in every corner of daily work; the Chinese Medicine Room has combined 5S management with the culture of Chinese medicine to make its own specialty; the Catering Department has made long-term and meticulous improvements to create a clean and orderly dining place for patients and hospital staff. After the wonderful reports from ten departments, the judges finally selected three third prize departments, namely, the Department of Dietetics, the Department of Respiratory Medicine ( Sandun 14 ward) and the Chinese medicine room; two second prize departments, namely, the Department of Gastroenterology ( Sandun 12 ward) and Sandun 5 ward; and one first prize department: the Department of Laboratory. In addition, four departments won the competition winners, namely: Pharmacy, Orthopedics I (Sandun 11 Ward), Rehabilitation Medicine (Sandun 16 Ward), and Hematology (Sandun 6 Ward).


 


Quality and safety is the treasure of hospital survival and development, and the implementation of 5S management is precisely one of the hospital quality management system. Through this competition report, the whole hospital staff deepened their understanding of 5S management and learned about the working style of each excellent department, which laid a solid foundation for further implementing 5S management and guaranteeing the quality and safety of hospital operation in the future, and the hospital will continue to promote the depth and breadth of 5S management in order to build a modern first-class hospital that satisfies the public!
