Everyone participates in patient safety, our hospital held the first series of activities of "World Patient Safety Day“

At the 72nd World Health Assembly held in Switzerland in May this year, 194 countries jointly decided to name September 17 as "World Patient Safty Day" to focus on patient safety, increase public awareness and participation, promote global communication and understanding, and strengthen the cooperation.

September 17 is the first World Patient Safty Day, and this year's slogan is "Patient Safety for All", which aims to mobilize hospital staff, patients and their families, and all sectors of society to pay attention to patient safety and participate in patient safety; from the point to the surface, to form a joint effort to weave a tight safety net to enhance the level of hospital safety and protect the health rights of patients.

Our hospital has always attached great importance to patient quality and safety management, and has quickly carried out a series of rich patient safety-related activities. Through WeChat, posters and other forms, the World Patient Safety Day was widely publicized among hospital staff and patients; typical cases related to patient safety were collected throughout the hospital and excellent cases were selected for display; in the afternoon of September 17, the first World Patient Safety Day activity was held in the Sandun Branch.

During the event, Chen Xinyu, deputy director of the Patient Safety Management Committee of Zhejiang Hospital Association and director of the Medical Department of the hospital, gave a wonderful lecture on "Implementation and Future of Patient Quality and Safety under the Guidance of Goals" to the medical staff of the hospital, explaining in detail the background, history, rich connotation and development direction of the patient safety goals promulgated by the Chinese Hospital Association. Through vivid cases, Chen Xinyu gave an in-depth analysis of the ten safety goals of patient safety, which was humorous and profound, and benefited the medical staff.

Dr. Xia Yanfei, Director of the Department of Anesthesia and Surgery of our hospital, started from the easily neglected temperature and gave a talk on "Continuous temperature monitoring and patient safety in the perioperative period", reminding clinical workers to pay attention to details, learn and improve from mistakes and adverse events to ensure patient safety.

Dr. Lin Jian, chief physician of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of our hospital, showed how medical staff can change the original diagnosis and treatment methods and concepts from the perspective of patient safety and interests, using people-oriented and quality management tools to ultimately benefit patients to the greatest extent through "The Change Brought by a Gastric Tube".

Patient safety is the core of medical quality. Through further exploration and practice, our hospital will gradually form a patient safety culture of "patient-centered, leadership-oriented, full participation, information sharing and continuous improvement". By forming a team, building a model, building a mechanism, and promoting implementation, the hospital will establish a patient safety ecosystem of "point, line, surface, and body" medical care with the linkage of doctors, nurses, and patients and multidisciplinary interaction, build an online and offline communication platform for doctors and patients, and encourage patients and their families to participate in patient safety in various ways, and will also continue to carry out patient safety improvement with the help of WeChat official account, quality management circle, PDCA, etc. to promote patient safety to take root.
