Good News! Results of “National 2020 Positive & Virtuous Youth” Appraisal in 2020 Announced, Zhou Xiaoxi from Zhejiang Hospital Is Awarded with the Title of “Conscientious and Meticulous Youth”!

The namelist of “National Positive & Virtuous Youth” in 2020 is formally announced on CCTV News on April 28. Zhou Xiaoxi, male, race Han, born in December 1986, CPC member, Deputy Secretary of Chinese Communist Youth League Committee at Zhejiang Hospital and Physician-in-charge of the Respiratory Medicine Department. He is a good doctor of the patients. He is comforting and curing the patients with his consummate medical skills and warmth in clinical medical treatment. He is actively devoted to medical volunteer services, and he takes the lead in establishing the internet-based volunteer service team to answer questions and doubts from the patients. He is an outstanding example of the youth, and he is ushering and guiding the youth to assume due responsibilities in the era by actual actions. Facing the COVID-19 in 2020, he is the earliest in taking lead to set up a youth physician task force of the hospital. He takes the lead in entering the quarantine wards; he asks for battle assignment after blocking of Wuhan, and rushes to the rescue in Wuhan on the fourth day of the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival). He is shouldering the mission of “respecting life, and willing to dedicate”, and is erecting the model image of being brave and assuming responsibility for the communist party members working in health system with his own actions. During the period of rescue in Wuhan, He leaves danger to himself, brings concern to his colleagues, and brings standard diagnosis and treatment to the patients. His common words are “I’m not tired, I can still persist”.

First Prize Awarded on “Youth Campaign, with You and Me” Theme Speech Contest

Zhou Xiaoxi is awarded with The First Prize of this contest on behalf of the Provincial Health Committe after selection of the preliminary contest and the team efforts.

I cannot concentrate on my work in front if she knows it”——he name is Ye Lei, my comrade-in-arms, and this is the Wechat message sent to her relative on the day of departure. “Haircut for the delcared mission, put on the coat armor and go into the battlefield”. She has cut off her long hair, with no time to settling down her 6-year-old son and proceeds without hesitation to Wuhan. Her mother discovers after 28 days that her daughter has gone to the most front of the battle earlier”.

On the rostrum, Zhou Xiaoxi is sharing the stories around them at the battlefield during rescue in Wuhan both excellent in voice and affection.

“I received the application notice on the third day of the Chinese New Year, and left on the fourth day. It seemed Wuhan was an empty city without people, and we were very upset”. As a member of the second medical team assigned from Zhejiang Province to Wuhan for rescue, Zhou Xiaoxi chokes wiht sobs when he recalls the feelings at that moment.

The stories shared on the rostrum are only miniatures from the medical workers in Wuhan. Zhou Xiaoxi says, the main purpose of attending this speech contest is to tell you the stories happened in the battle on behalf of all medical workers fighting in Zhejiang, Wuhan and Hubei. Currently, the pandemic is still not over, and they will continue to fight against the epidemic with full efforts. The doctors are benevolent, with missions shouldered. “Winning the battle and zero infection” is the goal from the medical workes.

The pandemic is still not over, and there is no border for virus. The youths from the health system of Zhejiang Province are fighting the combination blows for epidemic control and prevention at home and abroad and “work resumption, production resumption and study resumption” with their actual actions, interpreting the profound connotation of “important window” granted by General Secretary Xi to Zhejiang, keeping in mind the original intention of “seeking the well-being of people’s health, and finding solutions to people’s illness”, and making hte flowers of youth bursting into bloom at the places most needed by people.
