Is Electronic Cigarette Smoking "Smoking"? This Free Clinic Tells You

 Hits: 2792 Time: 2020-05-25

May 31, 2020 is the 33rd World No-Tobacco Day. This year's theme is "Protecting Young People from Traditional Tobacco Products and E-cigarettes". Tobacco is the main cause of chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and smoking will increase the risk of hypertension. There is sufficient research evidence that smoking can lead to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and adolescent asthma, and increase the risk of pulmonary tuberculosis and other respiratory infections. In addition, nicotine contained in the current popular e-cigarettes is an addictive ingredient in tobacco products. Teenagers' exposure to nicotine may have long-term adverse consequences on brain development. Smoking  may also increase the risk of death in patients with severe novel coronavirus pneumonia.

In order to further respond to the call and improve the people's awareness of tobacco use and the harm of second-hand smoke, our hospital will hold the "World No-Tobacco Day" tobacco control commitment signing ceremony and large-scale free clinic activities to advocate reducing tobacco consumption and creating a smoke-free environment. Please bring relevant medical records for consultation. We sincerely look forward to your arrival!
