Doctor Xu Pengfei, assistant director of the Medical Laboratory Department of our hospital, and technician Lizou Yangzi returned to Hangzhou safely after 23 days of fighting side by side with the team members and successfully completing the nucleic acid detection task of more than 3 million people! In the same boat, they have "Ji", they return safely and triumphantly!

Take the initiative to sign up and be full of blood

At the beginning of 2021, Shijiazhuang was shrouded by a sudden epidemic. The order to close the city turned a provincial capital city with constant traffic into an empty city overnight.

In the early morning of January 7, after receiving an urgent notice from the Provincial Health Commission, the Medical Laboratory Department of our hospital sent Xu Pengfei and Lizou Yangzi to support Hebei to carry out the new crown nucleic acid detection along with the detection and medical team of Zhejiang Province. Xu Pengfei is the assistant director of the medical laboratory department. He has been the backbone of Xinguan nucleic acid detection since January 2020. He has excellent strength in both professional technology and organization and coordination ability. Lizou Yangzi is the youngest Party member in the Department and the Secretary of the branch of the third medical technology regiment. He took the initiative to sign up when he rushed to Wuhan, full of blood and hard practice. He is also the only female general among the four groups of support team members sent by the laboratory department. In the face of the leader's entrustment, the two team members said: "after such a long time of systematic training and actual combat, we just continue to work in another place. Please rest assured!"

On the evening of January 7, after a brief departure ceremony, they took the bus to the airport with the instructions of their leaders, the fighting spirit of their colleagues and the expectations of their families.

Race against time, every minute counts

At 11:30 p.m. on January 7, the plane of the team members arrived at Shijiazhuang international airport safely. The radio broadcast: "the temperature in Shijiazhuang is minus 12 degrees..." after getting off the plane, the cold came to my face. The cold in winter in northern China has sounded the battle horn to the team members.

At more than 2 a.m. on January 8, the team members arrived at the accommodation hotel, put down their luggage and rushed to the hospital for docking.

At 4 a.m. on January 8, I went back to the hotel to rest.

At 8 a.m. on January 9, our instruments and equipment arrived at the hospital and immediately rushed to the hospital for equipment installation and commissioning.

With the joint efforts of the team members, an ordinary laboratory has turned into a "battlefield" laboratory with 24-hour full load operation and an average daily test volume of 30000. Xu Pengfei, as the person in charge of room 2 of test group 3, Zou Yangzi not only completes the sampling work of room 2 of test group 3, but also undertakes the publicity work in the group.

Day and night, go all out

One of the characteristics of nucleic acid testing in Shijiazhuang is the large number of samples, which especially tests the team members' concentration and sample adding speed. Another feature is in the new crown screening stage, and nucleic acid positives are constantly screened out. When the players were asked: nervous? Are you afraid? The team members said: "seeing the continuous flow of samples, thinking that our work can provide data for epidemic prevention and control, there is no time to be nervous. The rest is to work hard."

During the 23 day work, from early morning to late night and from early morning to morning, the team members in protective clothing kept completing the samples sent from the hospital and isolation points. In the last round of testing, Xu Pengfei's group created a record of 171 boards in a single shift (less than 8 hours), and Zou Yangzi also created a record of 22 boards in a single shift. Every team member adheres to a belief: if we are faster, epidemic prevention and control can be faster. We are young and our youth is used to struggle!
