【Warm Doctors】 Angel warm doctor in action Health education to improve literacy Zhejiang Hospital held nursing health education competition

In order to deeply implement the "improve medical services and enhance patient experience" Zhejiang Hospital "Warm Doctors" 100 days of action, the implementation of "patient-centered" quality nursing services, improve the overall health literacy of patients, Zhejiang Hospital Nursing Department held a health education competition. In order to further implement the "improve medical services and enhance patient experience", the nursing department of Zhejiang Hospital held the fourth nursing health education competition with the theme of "angel Warm doctors in action and health education to improve literacy" in the afternoon of November 29, 2019 at Sandun Hospital.

A total of 62 entries were received in the preliminary round of the competition, and the contestants elaborated the connotation of health education in different directions, such as patient safety management, psychology and disease education. After a strict evaluation of the health education videos submitted by the contestants by the expert jury in the previous stage, 10 outstanding works were finally selected.

The final competition was divided into three sessions: PPT presentation, on-site questioning and post-competition commentary. Ren Min, Director of Social Development Department of Zhejiang Hospital, Tang Hongying, Director of Preventive Health Care Department, Liu Caixia, Director of Nursing Department, Chen Fang and Xu Saizhu, Deputy Directors of Nursing Department, served as judges, and experts commented on each contestant's presentation.

Finally, Sun Hang Yan from the 15th ward of Lingyin Hospital won the first prize. She presented "What you need to know before orthopedic surgery", using the role play of responsible nurses and clavicle fracture patients to fully demonstrate the knowledge related to diet, functional exercise, clothing, items and personal preparation on the day of surgery before orthopedic surgery.

Jiang Jinyi from the fifth ward of Sandun hospital area, Yan Ling from the cadre health department and Meng Liping from the twenty-first ward of Lingyin won the second prize.

Jiang Jinyi brought "What you don't know about coronary stent implantation", which was performed in the form of a drama to let patients know about coronary stent implantation, what they need to pay attention to before and after the operation, and how to carry out health care related knowledge. It was a very accurate restoration of what elderly patients need to know before and after coronary stent implantation, which won a lot of praise.

Yan Ling presented "Exercise Therapy for Diabetes". She talked about the benefits of exercise, the new 7 points of health for diabetic patients, and the "three disciplines and eight points of attention" of exercise.

Meng Liping gave a vivid lecture on "Home rehabilitation of lumbar dystrophy", in which she and members of the department introduced relevant knowledge of home rehabilitation in the form of a two-person Q&A session on the causes, symptoms and changes of lumbar dystrophy as well as Mckenzie therapy, core stability training and good habits of life.

In addition, Shao Qian of Endoscopy Center, Zhou Zhouwei of Sandun Outpatient Clinic, Sun Yu of Sandun 10 Ward, Ye Qingwei of Ling Yin 9 Ward, Huang Ying Ying of Sandun 16 Ward and Mo Wei Wei of Ling Yin 12 Ward won the third prize.

Through this activity, the nursing department aims to create a good health education atmosphere; to make nursing staff pay more attention to diversified health education and give more humanistic care to patients in their work; at the same time, it also stimulates nursing staff to take the initiative to learn, study and innovate with passion, so as to further practice the "Warm doctors" action of Zhejiang Hospital.
