Save the brain with a "B" for every second - This clinic is not to be missed on World Stroke Day

October 29, 2021 is the 16th World Stroke Day. Stroke (commonly known as "stroke") is characterized by high incidence, high disability, high mortality and high recurrence rate, with rapid onset, rapid progression and serious consequences. Every 6 seconds, 1 person dies of stroke, and every 6 seconds, 1 person becomes disabled due to stroke.

In July 2021, the Chinese Stroke Association officially released the "BE FAST recipe" to identify early stroke symptoms during the 7th Annual Conference. The first 5 letters represent one early symptom each, and the last letter is to remind you to call the emergency number and seek medical attention as soon as stroke symptoms are detected.

   "B" - Balance means balance, loss of equilibrium or coordination, sudden difficulty walking.

   "E" - Eyes means eyes, sudden changes in vision, difficulty seeing.

   "F" - Face means face, facial asymmetry, distorted corners of the mouth

   "A" - Arms refers to the arms, a sudden feeling of weakness or numbness in the arms, usually on one side of the body

   "S" - Speech means language, slurred speech, inability to understand the language of others

   "T" - Time means time，the symptoms above indicate a possible stroke, please do not wait for the symptoms to disappear, call 120 immediately for medical help.

   The theme of this year's World Stroke Day is: Be alert to stroke symptoms, identify and treat them as early as possible, and the slogan is: "B" for every second, save the brain. In order to promote healthy Zhejiang, advocate scientific health concept, deep integration of medical and body, lead health education, and implement prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, so that the public, media, doctors, patients and families pay more attention to the occurrence and hazards of stroke, understand the scientific methods of stroke prevention, master the basic measures of stroke emergency, and improve the prognosis of the disease. Zhejiang Hospital will join hands with Zhejiang Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Prevention and Research Center and Changxing County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine to hold a large scale publicity and charity clinic.
