The kindness of a doctor and the warmth of blood Our hospital is the first among provincial health units to start team blood donation

On the morning of February 18, the tenth "Our Hospital Blood Donation Day" was in full swing in two hospital areas, Lingyin and Sandun,  with over 400 medical and nursing staffs signed up for the event.

Due to the epidemic, the provincial blood center was forced to delay the winter blood donation campaign for the health system, which was planned to start in December last year. Our hospital became the first provincial health unit to respond positively and organize a team blood donation after the current outbreak of the new pneumonia epidemic. This is not the first "first" for our hospital. As early as August 2017, our hospital was the first among provincial hospitals to establish a unit "Blood Donation Day", setting February 18 and August 18 of each year as "Our Hospital Blood Donation Day In August, we were the first hospital at the provincial level to establish a unit "Blood Donation Day" and set February 18 and August 18 each year as "Our Blood Donation Day". In the past five years, 1,711 medical staff members participated in the blood donation days, and the total amount of blood donated reached 399,460 ml.

In this activity, Yan Jing, secretary of the Party Committee of our hospital, took the lead, and people from Zhejiang Hospital rolled up their sleeves to witness the blooming of life with hot blood. Yan Jing said, "The Party Committee of the hospital has always attached great importance to and supported the voluntary blood donation work, and actively encourages employees to participate in blood donation activities every year. As medical workers, we have a deeper understanding of the importance of safeguarding clinical blood supply, so we are always on the front line of blood donation work and hope that our actions will drive more people in the community to participate."

At the site of the blood donation activity, staff members, in accordance with the requirements related to epidemic prevention and control, lined up voluntarily, filled in the information registration form, drew blood for laboratory tests and donated blood in an orderly manner while doing their own protection. In the early morning, Ma Li of the hospital's dietary department appeared on the blood donation truck, with a history of 20 years of blood donation, and his total blood donation volume inside and outside the hospital has reached 12,700 ml. He said, "Whether it's fighting the 'epidemic' or donating blood, it's a duty that I am obliged to bear as a medical personnel."

One by one, Zhejiang Hospital people added to the "Great Wall" of life-saving blood with a trickle of their own blood. During the activity of "Our Hospital Blood Donation Day", a total of 318 people from the two hospitals donated blood, and the total amount of blood donated reached 75,540 ML.
