Library Information Service System

      In order to make full use of the library's existing resources, network resources, actively seek inter-library collaboration, broaden the access to resources, and provide perfect information services for the teaching, teaching and research of the hospital. Through information services, information exchange can be accelerated, the utilization rate of information can be improved, the information needs of medical workers can be satisfied to the greatest extent, and the service role of information in medical treatment, teaching and scientific research can be better played. This system is hereby established.


1. Purpose: In order to make full use of the existing resources and network resources of the library, actively seek inter-library collaboration, broaden the access to resources and provide perfect information services for teaching, teaching and research of the hospital. Through information services, information exchange can be accelerated, the utilization rate of information can be improved, the information needs of medical workers can be satisfied to the greatest extent, and the service role of information in medical treatment, teaching and scientific research can be better utilized. This system is hereby established.

2. Scope: All hospital staff (including medical staff, resident training staff, internship and training staff) are required to follow this system when using the relevant information services in the hospital library.

3. Authority and Responsibility.

3.1 Librarians: They are responsible for developing the system of information services in the Hospital, conducting regular maintenance of the database information system, and providing information retrieval, information consultation and document delivery services.

3.2 Personnel visiting the library: to comply with the rules and regulations of the information service, to use correctly the public accounts of the database information resources purchased by the hospital, to use the database and literature resources appropriately, and to respect copyright protection.

4. Definitions.

4.1 Information Retrieval Service: Information retrieval is the process of processing, organising, organising and storing information in a certain way, and then finding out the relevant information accurately according to the specific needs of the information user. Information retrieval can be divided into literature retrieval, data retrieval and fact retrieval according to the storage and retrieval object. The key to information retrieval is information utilisation.

4.2 Reference Consultancy Service: Reference consultancy refers to the activities of librarians in providing assistance to readers in using literature and seeking knowledge and intelligence. It provides readers with facts, data and literature clues in the form of assistance in searching, answering enquiries and topical literature reports. The essence of reference consulting work is a service that provides readers with specific literature, knowledge of literature and access to literature in a targeted manner by means of individual answers based on literature.

5. Content of assignments.

5.1 Management of the electronic reading room

5.1.1 The electronic reading room is intended for staff, residents and doctors in training to search and browse the medical literature and read electronic publications.

5.1.2 Computer activities unrelated to the business of the Hospital, such as chatting on the Internet, watching films and videos and browsing illegal websites, are prohibited during the opening hours, and cannot be used for games.

5.1.3 The students shall take care of the equipment and instruments in the electronic reading room, and shall not move the computers or pull the connectors and wires at will.

5.1.4 You are not allowed to bring your own CD-ROMs and software for installation and use. If you use a USB stick to download materials, you must obtain the consent of the management staff and download them on the management computer in a unified manner, while providing printing services.

5.1.5 Check whether the computer is normal before going on the computer. If it is not normal, explain to the management staff in time, and let the management staff check and confirm that it is normal before leaving the computer.

5.1.6 To be one person, one machine, and to obey the management's deployment.

5.2 Information Retrieval Service

5.2.1 Information retrieval service is a service whereby the relevant library staff will complete the search and submit the corresponding search results to the user according to the user's needs.

5.2.2 A library search system is established and patrons are provided with instructions on the use of the library search system to understand the common problems in the book search system.

5.2.3 The Library provides various forms of bibliographic advisory services and patrons can search the collection and patron borrowing records through the machine-readable catalogue.


5.2.4 The literature search service only provides information search related to teaching, research and discipline development of the College, and requests not related to teaching, research or discipline development will not be provided in principle.

5.2.5 The search results of the literature search service are for users' reference only and are not for other purposes.

5.3 Use of Database Resources

5.3.1 The Library purchases relevant database resources according to the teaching and research needs of the College and the actual situation of the Library.

5.3.2 The existing online digital library database of our institution is available at http://www.medbooks.com.cn.

5.3.2.1 The journal databases include Wanfang Medical Database, China Knowledge Network CHKD Full Text Database and foreign language journal databases integrating PubMed, Elscvier, Springer, Wilcy, OVID, EBSCO and other databases.

5.3.2.2 The HCH clinical knowledge base includes the Western medicine knowledge base and the Chinese medicine knowledge base. The Western medicine knowledge base includes monograph database, case database, drug database, guideline database, video database, chart database and other sub-databases, and the Chinese medicine knowledge base includes disease database, acupuncture database, prescription database and other multi-sub-databases.

5.3.3 The Zhejiang Hospital Digital Library is for in-hospital access only.
